THE TOP 200 ALBUMS OF THE PAST 15 YEARS (ACCORDING TO ‘PITCHFORK’)
Pitchfork has spent the past year compliling their People’s List, a reader-curated list of the 200 best albums of the past 15 years (since they launched). The top five albums, according to “The People” are:
1. Radiohead / OK Computer
2. Radiohead / Kid A
3. Arcade Fire / Funeral
4. Neutral Milk Hotel / In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
5. The Strokes / Is This It
6. Radiohead / In Rainbows
7. Wilco / Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
8. Animal Collective / Merriweather Post Pavillion
9. Kanye West / My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
10. Sufjan Stevens / Illinois
Three Radiohead albums in the top 10…yeah, definitely a Pitchfork list. I agree with most of this, even taking personal taste out of it (I, for instance, would not put NMH on the top ten, they’re just not my bag). You can see the full list here.
